Our Approach

Busy Noggin produces custom solutions; therefore, what we deliver varies greatly from one client to another. Some folks need turnkey solutions while others only need help with a particular aspect of a project. However, every client can expect the following:

• We will ask a lot of questions. And not just questions specifically about the project, but also questions about your business, industry and competitors. We believe excellent solutions come from thoroughly understanding a client's business and needs.
• We will provide an honest assessment of what we can provide: We are only interested in accepting projects which we know can be delivered with excellence. We are not afraid of a challenge and enjoying pushing ourselves, but we will not promise more than we can deliver given the budget and schedule.
• We will deliver what the client needs. No more. No less. We have no interest in pressing upon a client more than they need. We want clients to feel they have been properly treated.
• We will bring passion into every project. Hopefully this does not sound too hokey, but we do take pride in our work and put a piece of ourselves into every project. A job well done means something to us.

Here are some typical client situations in which we can help.

• Ad agency, design firm, PR consultancy: We can take your Photoshop mockups and turn them into robust, working sites.
• Small business with no technical staff: In this scenario we would design and develop a turn-key solution. After the site is launched you will be able to maintain the the site yourself using a normal web browser. If expanded features are later needed, you can have Busy Noggin or another competent web developer integrate the new features.
• Medium-sized business with in-house technical staff: Here Busy Noggin can help kick-start areas of site development for which the in-house staff lacks either time or expertise. Also, during the process, the in-house staff can be brought up to speed on particular aspects of the solution such as JavaScript, CSS, TypoScript configuration, etc.
• Fellow web developer/consultant: Here we would come alongside and assist with things such as front-end coding, CMS integration, template design, etc.

Why do we do this? Because for us running a web development business is not just about the money to be made (money is important but there are easier ways to make money). Rather it is about continually improving in activities we enjoy (coding and design). It is about being energized by the challange of figuring out a technical issue and the pleasure in a producing a site well done. Working with and for people we enjoy and respect is a high priority for us. We do not have the desire nor time to connect ourselves to dysfunctional organizations any more than you want to work with flakey web designers or opinionated geeks.
